Hold 不住, 就逊掉了

It's the much talked about, abominated, detested period of the student life again: hail the exam period's arrival. Landing upon us yet again like a huge juggernaut of uncertainty.

I'm holding my own this semester (Probably not evident based on the last entry) but yea, still feeling alright.

A well known fact (Ok maybe not a fact but starting with that kind of phrase just adds credibility, where I just reversed the intended effect...) about Singaporean students is that we are skilled exam paper takers. Smart? Debatable, but hardworking is a definite. So much so that the arrival of the much-vaunted exam period also signals with it the arrival of 'NO LIFE', as yet again evident from my last entry.

For me the effect is not that outstanding because I started out with almost zero fun throughout the semester so my 'NO LIFE' has a limited capacity. But some of my peers, they literally carry the meaning all the way. No play, no this no that, just mug. Well, that is still alright because it's their own business. But when they hear that I'm going to, let's say play tennis for the night, go KBox on the other (Looking at you Huangmu, Robert and co), they either immediately jumped at my supposedly high level of preparation for the exams, or judge quietly at the back of their minds that I'll flunk the exams.

Guess what? I do all these because I know I can HOLD 住整个场面. Exams period doesn't mean you don't eat, don't surf the net (Cause half of the time these students are 'mugging', they are on Facebook on other what-have-you), don't watch TV etc. For some those are their essentials, for me tennis is one of those. That's tantamount to DJ NOT watching 康熙来了　every week, Huangmu not eating Sakae buffet every month or so despite swearing off it after each meal... The routine stays quite simply because we can HOLD 住.

So bottomeline is, if I can HOLD 住 and you can't, 你就逊掉了. And don't always pepper me with the 'Wahhh so zai ah confirm score A already' false praises when you hope I am stuck at the bottom of the bell curve so you have a higher chance of scoring A. Not cool yo.
